Tomb Raider Underworld Mesh Exporter

A modified version of Gh0stBlade's TR Underworld Noesis Plugin, which includes an exporter to the format.

With this plugin you can import models (.tr8mesh) and textures (.tr8pcd9), and export to those formats (fbx is recommended to export to .tr8mesh, dds is mandatory to export to .tr8pcd9)

Some info regarding limits:

  • 65536 vertices limit per-mesh.
  • 42 bones limit per-mesh. This means that, before exporting, you need to make sure your mesh is only skinned to 42 bones total. You can check that by looking at the Vertex Groups tab in Blender, dunno about 3DS Max & Co.
  • 4 weights per vertex limit.
  • If your .fbx files contains exactly the same amount of bones as the .tr8mesh you're exporting over, Noesis will write the skeleton present in your .fbx. If your skeleton contains less or more bones than the original file, skeleton writing will be bypassed and your file will contain the original skeleton.

You should be able to export over any .tr8mesh, so this means you can mod any player, NPC, or environment model. But this wasn't heavily tested so it may not always work. If you encounter a .tr8mesh file which you find issues exporting over, please report.
